Lauren Bennett, the British singer best known for her work on LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem, has died at age 36. Her death was publicly announced by her former G.R.L. bandmates, bringing renewed attention to the songs that made her a familiar voice in early 2010s pop music.
Bennett’s biggest commercial moment came in 2011, when she was featured with GoonRock on Party Rock Anthem. The song became a global dance-pop hit and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming one of the defining party tracks of that era.
Before that breakthrough, Bennett was part of Paradiso Girls, a pop group connected to the Pussycat Dolls brand. The group released Patron Tequila in 2009, featuring Lil Jon and Eve.
She later joined G.R.L., the girl group behind Wild Wild Love with Pitbull and Ugly Heart. Her death also marks another painful loss for the group, following the death of member Simone Battle in 2014.
Bennett’s career remains closely tied to a small group of songs that reached wide audiences and became part of early 2010s pop culture.
